The Church of Scientology in Milan has three new female ministers who can now perform all religious functions and ceremonies of the church, including naming ceremonies, marriages and funeral services. Ordained by Rev. Jonathan Rota, they shared with the church community, friends and family their important commitment to the faithful who will be able to follow the path of spiritual rediscovery laid out by the religion’s founder, L. Ron Hubbard.

To become ministers, they completed a course of study that included learning about the great religious traditions of the world, such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity and Islam. After completing their studies, demonstrating good conduct in accordance with the ethical codes of the religion and proven achievements, they were able to receive their ordination.
Churches have always provided guidance and comfort to their members. Beyond the strictly spiritual realm, churches have traditionally considered it their mission to alleviate suffering, help where help is needed and restore dignity at crucial moments in life. Thanks to the training received in Scientology, a minister of religion also has the knowledge to help people resolve problems, special conditions and situations in life.
One cannot serve as a Scientology Minister without a genuine and predominant desire to help others, whether it be to alleviate suffering, contribute to improving living conditions or help people embark on and continue their spiritual journey in the Church of Scientology. Ministerial services are important to any religion, but for individual Scientologists they have a special meaning: it is by helping others that they contribute to achieving Scientology’s goal of making this world a better place for everyone.
